Rock Strings Workshop!

Thanks to Shenzo, Katherine Philp and all workhop participants. This was a fantastic and inspiring event.

Moon Music is proud to present two new pieces for string orchestra. Erlkonig is for high school A standard string orchestra or professional ensemble. Five Little Grooves is pitched at the intermediate standard school ensemble. Five Little Grooves are fun and come with an excellent backing CD that features live drums and guitar work by Shenzo Gregorio. There are several opportunities for improvised solos. Written solos are provided. The piano part has the solos incase no students are able to perform them.

The Contemporary Strings Workshop has been running at St Laurences College for the last three years and is now spreading its wings to reach schools across Brisbane. This workshop celebrates the amazing possibilities for stringed instruments. Workshop hosts have included Shenzo Gregorio, Wayne Jennings (Deep Blue), and Luke Moller.

Katherine studied at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music under Markus Stocker and is now making exciting new music both as a solo cellist, and in a diverse range of ensembles.
